Leap Year or not ?

Contact us: micronica@micronica.com.au

Well....YES ! It is !

But it's not as simple as dividing by four. Generally a Century year is not actually a leap year. That's a fact. Even though it can be divided by four. For example, was 1900 a leap year ? 1900/4=475 with no remainder. But 1900 was in fact NOT a leap year ! For "Century" years the rule is that it is only a leap year if the century year number is exactly divisible by 400. That is why 2000 is a leap year. It is divisible by 400 with no remainder.

Let us know if you know of any other peculiarities like that. A bit of fun may help to soothe some of the sting out of the millenium problem :)
